Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure Series is the world’s largest and most successful education and fundraising event for breast cancer ever created.

Your participation and fundraising provides women and men in the Susan G. Komen Colorado South area (Pueblo, Otero, Teller, Fremont and El Paso counties) with services that have literally saved lives.

6th annual Strides for Epilepsy 5K, the largest epilepsy awareness event in the Southern Colorado region. Celebrate the run/walk with music, dancing and family fun! Proceeds benefit the programs and services provided by the Epilepsy Foundation of Colorado.

8th Annual Be Ovary Aware 5k Run 3k Walk at America the Beautiful Park! The out-and-back course runs along beautiful, flat Fountain Creek, ending with festivities at the park! All participants receive a race t-shirt, a runner’s bag, and post-race snacks courtesy of Wooglin’s Deli. Teams welcome!

Join us for a 5k trail run followed by a celebration and a chili cook-off! Monument Professional Firefighters Local 4319 is raising money for Operation Warm. Proceeds allow Operation Warm to provide brand new winter coats to children in need, helping improve self-confidence, peer acceptance, school attendance, and overall wellness—because we believe a new winter coat can provide more than just warmth.

Come run the OktoberFest 8K! Participants receive a glass beer stein and coupon for 1 free beverage to be enjoyed at the Colorado Springs OktoberFest to be held at Security Service Field right after the run!   Your race bib gets you into the OktoberFest event for free on Saturday too!

3K Walk, 5K and 10K Run. Create a memorial in memory of someone. All proceeds benefit Pikes Peak Suicide Prevention.

Time: 7 AM- 1:30:: 7 AM (Full & Half Marathon), 7:05 (5K), 10:45 (Kids K)

The Colorado Springs Marathon presented by Penrose-St. Francis, is a community running event that features a full marathon, half marathon, and 5k. This family friendly race is a premiere endurance running event, attracting people from 26 different states. For the event’s third year, organizers have introduced a full marathon distance for our more ambitious runners!

All participants will receive a technical t-shirt and finisher medal.

Location: Camp Shady Brook near Deckers, CO

Time: Start times vary

Registration Fee: $400 for a team of four and $125 for an individual

Each team of 4 will race in a variety of endurance disciplines, including orienteering/navigation, cross-country running/hiking, mountain biking, paddling and other challenges! Runners can look forward to a large vendor area with interactive booths and a food truck fest. Be prepared for an amazing day!

Each team will consist of four athletes. Categories are male, female and coed. Space is limited to the first 50 teams, so register now! Awards will be given to the top three teams in each division. Come stay with us the night before for just $50 per person! (Includes dinner and breakfast!)

These races focus on cross country running, using the trails and obstacles that are offered at each race venue. The courses are challenging, and sometimes a bit crazy, but the atmosphere is filled with smiles and fun. By design, these are not your ordinary 5K or 10K races.

KID SERIES:

As long as kids are big enough to walk, they can participate in the kids’ series! Each kid can run whatever distance they feel comfortable with. This is a trail series and may include such things as hay bales, rocks, water, and other obstructions. Each child receives a ribbon after each race & it’s FREE!

They have a 5K, a 10K, and  Kids Fun Runs of ¼ and ½ mile. Entry for the adult races start at $35 and the kids runs are $5.

The pumpkin patch will be open to the public from 12-3 following the race and pumpkins are priced at 50 cents/pound. Participant of the Kids Fun Runs will receive a free pumpkin!

TESSA is excited to host our inaugural 5K Survivor’s Run in America the Beautiful Park. This will be a space for survivors of domestic and sexual violence to run – or walk! – together in solidarity, alongside their family, friends, and a community of supporters. Please consider joining us solo or with a team to show vocal and visible support for survivors of interpersonal violence in the Pikes Peak Region.

This family event will include a 5K and 1.25 mile single loop option. The event will be timed but can be completed at your own pace. They will also have face-painting, local vendors, games, and much more! Race finishes up at 6 PM  and post race celebration includes live band, food vendors, and beer garden!

Colorado College presents the 29th Annual Tiger Classic 5K to benefit the Tiger Pride Fund. Each participant receives an official race day t-shirt (sizes not guaranteed for race day registrations). Prizes for the top 3 finishers in each 10 year age group.

Location: The event will take place mostly on Tejon street between Costilla and Cache La Poudra Street.

Time: 7:30 AM

Registration Fee: Advance is $35, Day-of the event is $40, and includes a Waldo or Wenda kit that includes a shirt, hat and glasses.

Thousands of Waldos and Wendas will take to the streets in downtown Colorado Springs, Saturday – October 21, 2017. Waldo Waldo is the region’s most popular untimed 5K walk and fun run. Local exhibitors, music, and food trucks all added to the fun. Best of all, registered participants receive a Where’s Waldo costume kit. Money raised benefits local nonprofits that support community priorities like Waldo Canyon restoration and trail maintenance.

Runners of all ages and ability are welcome – walkers and strollers too!

Location: Downtown Manitou Springs

Time: 12-4 PM

Teams of five, one Emma and four runners, push their coffins 195 feet to the finish line. The fastest times earn trophies as well as a chance to win Best Emma, Best Entourage, and Best Coffin. There is even a separate fire department division that competes for their own traveling trophy. The Races start off with a parade of all the coffins and teams as well as authentic hearses at 12:00pm. The races begin with two teams per heat racing for their own time. Awards are announced and handed out after the races at 2:00 pm.

Time: 5K begins at 9:30 a.m.

1K Kids Fun Run begins at 10:30 a.m. (FREE)

Ahoy Mateys! A mighty good time’s to be had at the 10th annual Creepy Crawl 5k and Kids Fun Run at the spooky yet beautiful Palmer Lake Sante Fe Trailhead! Costumes are encouraged with a TON of prizes ready to reward your creativity. There will be treasure to be had and jams by Woody from the Peak 92.9 FM radio. You’ll have a great time while making it possible for our friends and neighbors in need to access membership and programs at the Y.

Girls on the Run inspires girls to a lifetime of healthy living and positive self esteem by using the power of running and physical activity.

Course is family friendly at a local farm with a mix of dirt/gravel roads. Proceeds go the Girls on the Run of the Rockies and Venetucci Farm.

Join YMCA in their 20th annual Turkey Trot 5k and Kids’ Fun Run event! The Turkey Trot 5k and Kids’ Fun Run is the eagerly anticipated Holiday event of the season and is a fundraiser for the YMCA.

Celebrate Christmas with this holiday event designed for your whole family! Instead of your race day tee shirt, you will receive a complete Santa Suit: pants, jacket, belt, hat and of course a beard, yours to keep.

Get ready to Rock the 9th Annual Jingle Bell 5k and Kids Fun Run Saturday, December 9th as we take on the fun and festive course at the Fountain Creek Regional Park! Wear your reindeer antlers, your ugly sweater, your santa suit, your bells, bows, and best cheer! Santa will be there, too! This year, all proceeds will benefit the Welte Teen Center in Fountain.

Kristal is a native of California, lived in Utah, and now lovingly calls Colorado Springs home. She grew up in a household with four younger siblings and graduated from University of California, Santa Cruz. She and her husband are raising their elementary school aged children in the Briargate area. With kids in school full time, Kristal is an active member of the PTA, and spends time working in local schools. She is passionate about connecting moms in our community. In her spare time, she enjoys long walks in the aisles of Target, dancing it out in Zumba classes, drinking copious amounts coffee, cooking dinner as a form of therapy, and last but certainly not least, spending time outdoors with her family.
