This is My Sunday Morning Before 8 A.M {Amber}

When sweet Meg offered to come to our house before 8 am to capture pictures of our family in our home, I was so super excited! The majority of my mornings are crazy and ridiculous, and 90% of the time someone cries. I was stoked to show all of you this craziness. Doesn’t it make you feel comforted when you find out another fellow mom has chaotic mornings just like you?  Well, I was prepared to make you feel amazingly comforted with one of my unpredictable mornings caught on film.

Unpredictable. That’s what this morning was. I woke up at 6:00 and my sweet girls who usually take ten minutes to wake up after 7:00, woke up on their own by 6:20, and got dressed on their own with no prompting.  Whaaaaaat is happening?! We go to church on Sunday mornings, but that isn’t until 9:00.  Impressively, we had so much time for activities!

Tim, my husband, is the cook in the house. He cooks us delicious breakfasts when he is home and delicious dinners almost every night. The girls and I decided to snack on tasty pistachio spread while we waited for the cook to awake. Ordinarily, dinners are our only meal that the entire family sits together to eat, so it really is a treat on the weekend when all four of us get to sit together to eat and chat with each other. As my girls get older, table conversations are feeling more and more like adult conversations.  I love them.

The girls get along pretty well the majority of the time.  They love to play superheros, dress-up, Barbies, and on this particular occasion, Marbles. Our dog, Cayenne, likes to wander around the girls as they play, nudging them softly ever so often.

As I looked back through these pictures, even with the dirty bedroom, the basket of unfolded laundry, and the mismatched outfits, I thought, “How great would it be if every morning was just like this one?”  Really great. Really, really great. But, they’re not. Sometimes, my four year old cries the entire walk to school because her coat makes her cold. Sometimes, my eight year old stomps around the house all morning because “I rush people too much!” So is life. I love these picture perfect moments. LOVE them. But those other times, I can tell another mom about those other times and boom. We bond. Plus, most of those times I can laugh about, and I do like to laugh. So, bring on the ridiculous mornings! But, I’m crossing my fingers for a sprinkle of a few good ones in there, too.
