Are staying in the Colorado Springs area for Spring Break this year? Sometimes it is nice to have a break to explore your own backyard and take advantage of this city. Spring in Southern Colorado holds so much potential – from activities outside to fun Spring Break Camps.  This guide will help you navigate your Spring Break no matter the weather.

Academy of Children’s Theatre

Where: Academy of Children’s Theatre, 2314 Vickers Dr, Colorado Springs, CO 80918

Dates/Times: March 26-30, 2018, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Details: During this fun-filled week, students will develop their musical theatre skills through direct teaching, exciting improvisations, and preparing a musical theatre production.  On Friday, all the camps will come together to present their productions for friends and family! Students should bring a lunch, 2 snacks, and a water bottle each day. Wait list available.

Details: Nurture your budding artist with Spring Break Workshops at the FAC’s Bemis School of Art. With a variety of classes to choose from for ages 6 and up, you’re bound to find the perfect fit for an enriching, art-filled week full of fun!

Campers in Coloradoland

Dates/Times: March 26 – 30, 2018,  9:00 AM– 3:00 PM 

Details: It may look like just fun and games, but deep connections to the environment are made minute by minute at Nature Center Nature Camps.  Through daily outdoor activities, songs, games, crafts, hikes, and embracing children’s universal passions to build forts, sneak, and play unstructured in the woods, nature campers connect to the outdoors, and science naturally comes along for the ride.  Camps are designed for children entering 1st-5th grades.

Ages: Children in 1st – 5th grades

Cost: $130 for members, $140 for non-members

Cheyenne Mountain Zoo Spring Break Camps

Where: 4250 Cheyenne Mountain Zoo Rd, Colorado Springs, CO 80906

Dates/Times: Week of March 26 – 30, 2018, 9:00 AM– 12:00 PM for half day, 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM for full day

Details: Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is hosting a full week camp, for ages 4-5, 5-7, and 8-11. Each day will include time inside and outside as well as up-close and personal time with some Zoo animals. Each day focuses on a different topic. Register for one day or all five days! Space is limited; therefore pre-registration is required.

Ages: Pre-K to 6th Grade

CityROCK Spring Break Caving Camp

Where: CityROCK Climbing Center, 21 North Nevada Avenue, Colorado Springs, CO 80903

Dates/Times: March 26 – 30, 2018, 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Details: Become a vertical caving expert in the 40’ pit; master stuff you’ve never seen before: Rack, Petzl Stop, Prusik, Frog. Plus, hands-on rescue practice in The Cave, hands-on geology lessons, carbide demos, and more. The last day of camp will include a trip to a real cave at Cave of the Winds! Get the chance to take all of the knowledge and skills you learn during caving camp and apply them to a real ‘outdoor’ caving adventure! (PLEASE NOTE – you may only sign your child up for the Cave of the Winds day if he or she has already participated in two days of this year’s spring break caving camp) For more information contact Dave.

CityROCK Spring Break Climbing Camp

Where: CityROCK Climbing Center, 21 North Nevada Avenue, Colorado Springs, CO 80903

Dates/Times: March 26 – 30, 2018, Full Day: 9:00 AM – 3:30 PM(best suited for kids 8 and up), Half Day: 9:00 AM- 12:00 PM (best suited for kids 4-7), Half Day: 12:30 AM – 3:30 PM (best suited for kids 4-7)

Details: It’s Springtime! So, come out of hibernation and join us for our indoor camps! Our camp program keeps kids ages 4 and up engaged and entertained with climbing, games, obstacle course challenges (including some of our favorite ninja obstacles!), and more! Tinker, Build and Create

Where: Space Foundation Discovery Center, 4425 Arrowswest Drive, Colorado Springs, CO 80907

Dates/Times: Tuesday, March 27, 2018 to Saturday, March 31, 2018 10:00 AM- 4:00 PM

Details: The Space Foundation Discovery Center is preparing to spend spring break with the public by exploring science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics (STEAM) in a week filled with “tinkering” activities. A variety of activities are planned that are appropriate for children ages 4-8 with an adult helper, and ages 9-17 on their own. The week-long event will wrap-up with the construction of a chain reaction machine, also known as a Rube Goldberg Machine, to be launched at noon on Saturday.

VillaKids Camp Days
