Shopping Consignment in COlorado SpringsCSMB2
Most people believe that there are only four seasons of the year: summer, fall, winter, and spring. I, however, know that there is one more season, the season of consignment sales! As my absolute favorite of them all, I keep a mental paper chain counting down the days till the start of this annual highlight.

Before I hit the sales, though, I always do some prep work. I call it putting on my “consignment game face.” No, you won’t find me bulldozing other women to get to the bargain tub of Lego’s (well, probably not anyway). But you will find me with my cheat sheet notepad that has a list of what my boys already have, what they need for their current size and the next size up, and what would be nice to have (but that is not a necessity if the price isn’t right). This keeps me from becoming the token “Consignment Crazy” who attends every consignment sale. You’ve seen her, right? The woman who frantically piles clothing into her bag because she can’t remember what is in her kid’s closet and wants to buy fifteen more pairs of 4T jeans “just in case.” (Or maybe you ARE this lady?) Gasp!

So take inventory of your children’s closets, grab a friend, and let’s go save some money!

Megan
Although her Kansas roots and upbringing are strong, Megan has proudly called Colorado Springs home since the winter of 2008 when she and her husband returned after serving for two years as Peace Corps volunteers in Eastern Europe. Her roles in life include wife, mother, friend, and teacher, and she feels honored by each of these hats she gets to wear. With a background in Secondary English Education, Megan spends her days working with junior high students, an age group she absolutely adores. After work, she returns home to her husband and two sons who enjoy playing board games, building with Legos, or simply snuggling on the couch and watching Jeopardy. When she isn't wearing her teaching or mom hats, Megan looks forward to spending time with friends, working in her garden, or indulging her introverted side by relaxing with a good book on her porch with a hot (often re-heated multiple times) cup of coffee. She does her best to find balance in life and live every moment to the fullest, enjoying them each as they come and reminding herself that every day of life is truly a gift, one that isn't ever guaranteed.
